Valentino Rossi, The Doctor from Urbino …!!! (V)

Valentino Rossi… selalu melakukan ritual sebelum berlangsung nya suatu race…!!! Ritual pertama nya adalah… Rossi akan berada dalam jarak kurang lebih 2 meter dari bikeznya… dan membungkuk dan mencium sepatu boots nya…!!! Makanya ada istilah “Are you ready boots…???”. Dan istilah ini digunakan di motoGP sewaktu akan berlangsung nya race …!!! Ritual berikutnya adalah Rossi akan memegang foot peg di sisi sebalah kanan…!!! Rossi akan duduk jongkok dan menundukkan kepala.. !!! Nggak tahu pasti apakah Rossi sedang berdoa secara kusyuk… ataukah mengenang para riderz sebelumnya,.. ataukah familynya… atau teman-temannya…!!! :D

Nah setelah… melakukan warming up race… selalu Rossi akan bediri diatas foot-pegnya… dan garuk-garuk… dan membenerin kancutnya.. yang mungkin nyangkut… atau nggak pazz dudukannya…!!! Disamping itu.. Rossi juga mempunyai kebiaasan mengenakan sepatu boot satu sisi sebelum yang satunya lagi.. demikian juga terhadap glove…!!! Rossi juga mempunyai kebiasaan… melihat bikez nya pada malam hari.. satu hari sebelum race berlangsung… untuk mengecek sticker… apakah sudah bener… ditempelnya…!!!

Terkait dengan helm… Rossi selalu menggunakan helm dengan motif… “Matahari dan Bulan” (Sun and Moon motif)…!!! Ibarat siang dan malam… memang begitulah… karakter Rossi…!!! Desain hem nya dilakukan oleh Aldo Drudi…!!! Helm nya pun… AGV.. cukup sukses di pasaran…!!! Maklum.. daya tarik Rossi… dan pernak-pernik yang dipakainya… masih menyimpan daya tarik…!!! Bahkan motor bebek juga… ikut-ikutan sukses.. gara-gara menggunakan brand Yamaha…!!! Selain itu… motif kura-kura.. alias kuya… juga terdapat pada bikez nya..!!! Bahkan tattoo kuyak ini ada pada tubuhnya… di deket puser bawah …!!! Kura-kura ninja.. juga termasuk gambar favorit Rossi…!!! Disamping itu.. tulisan Chihuahua… juga menempel di helmnya…!!! Chihuahua.. ini adalah geng dimana Rossi kecil bergaul bersama teman-temannya…!!! :D

Rossi Jatuh di Rumahnya

Bola.net - Juara dunia MotoGP Valentino Rossi mendapatkan beberapa jahitan di tangan dan kakinya karena jatuh di rumahnya, namun masih dijadwalkan ambil bagian dalam latihan resmi minggu ini di Malaysia.

"Pembalap Italia itu mendapat beberapa jahitan di tangan kiri dan kakinya sebelum berangkat ke Sepang untuk mengikuti latihan resmi. Ia jatuh ke meja kaca ketika membuka tirai di rumahnya," demikian pernyataan yang dikeluarkan dalam situs resmi MotoGP (www.motogp.com), Selasa.

"Jari manis tangan kiri Rossi dan kakinya terkena kaca ketika ia terjatuh ke meja itu," demikian dinyatakan dalam situs itu.

Pembalap berusia 29 tahun akan turun dalam acara pembukaan balapan di Qatar pada 12 April. (kpl/cax)

Valentino Rossi-125ccm biography

Valentino Rossi made debut in 125ccm class in Italian sport production championship on Cagiva, and next year, 1994, he takes the title. His talent vas recognized by Aprilia, so he became their official rider in European 125ccm championship, finishing this season as third. In same year he once again got Italian championship title. Year 1996 was the first year for Valentino Rossi in world championship, where he rode Aprilia for Team Scuderia AGV, and finished first season in 11th place, also taking his first victory in Czech Republic. This year was only preparation for Valentino Rossi, who took the 125ccm title in his second world championship season, with team Nastro Azzurro Aprilia. This way Rossi became youngest ever 125ccm world champion, taking impressive 11 wins.

Valentino Rossi moved to 250ccm category of world championship in year 1998, and finished this season in second place, with 5 wins under his belt. Year 2002 introduces revolution in premier class of world motorcycle racing: MotoGP class now includes 990ccm machines, alongside existing 500ccm. Valentino Rossi storms 2002 MotoGP championship with 11 wins, becoming first world champion in MotoGP class on new Honda RC211V machine. In year 2003 Rossi repeated seam success, taking second MotoGP crown, and shocked everyone in world of MotoGP racing with decision to move from superior Honda to Yamaha. Many other riders saw their chance in this move from Valentino Rossi, but time shown that they were not right.

Rossi continued his impressive performance on Yamaha in 2004, taking victory on his first race on Yamaha, becoming this way second rider in history of the MotoGP that made back-to-back victories on two different machines. Once again, Valentino Rossi shocked motorcycle world: he took 2004 MotoGP championship title by taking 9 wins in the season, equaling his number of wins on Honda in previous season. This way he also became Yamaha rider with biggest number of wins in season, breaking record of the 7 wins in the season held by Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey.

2005
In 2005, Rossi continued domination in MotoGP championship by scoring his 5th consecutive title. In 2005 MotoGP season, Rossi scored 11 wins, this time not being able to match record number of wins held by Mick Doohan. This year was also start of Rossi's involvement in Formula 1 with Ferrari, as he had few tests where he immediatelly set fast lap times. However, Rossi decided to stay in MotoGP with Yamaha for at least one more season, 2006.

2006
In 2006, Valentino Rossi continued with same manufacturer - Yamaha, but this time with new title sponsor, Camel. Despite great pre-season test results, 2006. MotoGP season started in bad way - chattering problems teethed Rossi from first race in Jerez. To make things even worse, Rossi was picked by Toni Elias in first corner incident and he finished race in distant 14th place. This was first time that Rossi has not started season with victory in MotoGP class. In next race, Qatar, Rossi managed to recover and win race. However, chattering problems were not solved, and Rossi finishes next race in Turkey in 4th place. Bad luck, which is not something we could say that was Rossi's problem in previous years, attacked in it's worst form in next two races. First, Rossi started Chinese Grand Prix from 13th place on the grid and made his way through the field, but tyre got damaged on his Camel Yamaha while he was on the way to podium finish and forced him to retire from race which will be remembered by maiden victory of Dani Pedrosa. In next race, Franch Grand Prix, things get even worse: Rossi`s Yamaha had engine failure 8 laps before end of the race while he was in 5 second lead, and he had second consecutive non-scoring finish.

After two disasters, Rossi's home Grand Prix at Mugello was relief for Rossi and Camel Yamaha team: Rossi won Italian Grand Prix, after starting from front row for first time in 2006 season. This was Rossi's 5th consecutive victory at Mugello circuit. Next race, that took place in Catalunya, was another moral-booster for Rossi, who took his third victory of the season on Spanish track, after dramatic start that saw Capirossi and Gibernau suffering terrific crash. Bad luck striked again in Assen, as Rossi suffered crash in free practice and ended day with broken bones in his hand and leg. However, Rossi decided to take place in the race despite injuries, qualifying last on the grid. In race, Rossi made his way through the field to end in respectable 8th place.

In next race, in Donington park, Valentino Rossi recovered enough to finish British Grand Prix in second place, behind rookie Dani Pedrosa. Next race, German Grand Prix, was even better for Rossi, who took another brilliant victory and decreased championship difference to Nicky Hayden. However, U.S. Grand Prix was another weekend to forget for Valentino Rossi, as once again his Yamaha emitted puffs of smoke before stopping, giving clear 25 points to championship leader, Nicky Hayden.

In the next race that took place in Czech Republic, Rossi once again returned to the top. In qualifying, Rossi took pole position. Situation in race was bit different, with Capirossi riding dominant race and winning in front of Rossi, who gained some ground in championship, reducing difference to Hayden to 38 points. In Sepang, Rossi took both pole position and race victory, taking few more points from Nicky Hayden in Championship Battle.

In Australia, Valentino Rossi had the chance to apply new tyre regulations for first time in his career, but for sure this was not something he wished to do. After being on his way to the top in dry part of the race, Rossi found himself mid pack after bike switch, and had to work his way through the field again, ending Australian Grand Prix in 3rd place, with Hayden finishing in 5th.

Next race of 2006 was in Motegi, where Rossi scored second place, once again gaining 9 points from Hayden, reducing gap to 12 points. Penultimate round of 2006 MotoGP championship took place in Estoril, where Rossi lost first place in last corner from Elias, but Hayden ended race without any points, after Dani Pedrosa crashed and brought team-mate to gravel. Rossi was now championship leader with one race remaining in the championship, with 8 points to spare. However, 5 points that Elias took from Rossi proved to be crucial for championship in last race of the 2006 MotoGP season...

Valencia was the place where Rossi failed to score his 6th consecutive MotoGP title, as he crashed in lap 4 of the race, rejoined race and finished in 13th. Hayden meanwhile ended race in 3rd, and won champhionship by 5 points - those 5 that Rossi has lost to Elias in previous race...

Rossi vs Gibernau Tinggi Peminat

Jakarta - Siapa bilang persaingan MotoGP tak menarik? Buktinya duel Valentino Rossi vs SeteGibernau di MotoGP Spanyol lalu menyedot atensi jutaan penonton. Padahal itu baru seri perdana. Duel yang terjadi di dua lap terakhir MotoGP Spanyol mendapatkan atensi luar biasa dari penonton televisi di dua negara asal rider yang terlibat perseteruan seru tersebut. Menurut data yang dilansir situs motogp.com, Rabu (14/4/2005), lebih dari 7 juta penonton menyaksikan even MotoGP Spanyol melalui televisi Italia 1. Jumlah tersebut mewakili 34,4 persen market share pada waktu prime (unggulan). Istimewanya ketika berlangsung duel Rossi vs Gibernau di dua lap terakhir, jumlah tersebut naik satu juta lagi menjadi 8 juta. Total, tontonan yang berlangsung kurang lebih 45 menit ini disaksikan oleh 11,5 juta pasang mata. Tak hanya publik Italia yang deg-degan melihat jagoannya berlaga. Di Spanyol, duel tersebut juga mencatat rekor penonton yang cukup luar biasa. Menurut catatan TVE, rata-rata penonton yang menyaksikan duel Rossi vs Gibernau mencapai 3,7 juta penonton. Seperti halnya di Italia, duel dua lap terakhir juga menyedot penonton yang lebih banyak yaitu 5,5 juta atau 46 persen market share ketika itu. Rekor penonton tersebut bahkan hanya bisa disamai dengan rekor penonton yang terjadi ketika local hero, Alex Criville, memenangkan juara dunia kelas 500cc tahun 1999. Penonton Spanyol memang tak sebesar di Italia, namun yang perlu dicatat, jumlah tersebut belum termasuk 127.000 pasang mata yang menyaksikan langsung duel di Jerez. Namun jangan dikira duel MotoGP Spanyol hanya menyedot perhatian publik Italia dan Spanyol saja. Dari televisi BBC diperoleh data 1,2 juta orang menyaksikan seri perdana ini. Tontonan MotoGP Spanyol bahkan melebihi rata-rata penonton yang menyaksikan program yang biasa disiarkan pada waktu makan siang (lunch) di hari Minggu. Tingginya peminat seri perdana MotoGP 2005 membuktikan kalau persaingan di MotoGP tahun ini memang sangat menarik. Apalagi itu baru seri perdana, masih ada 16 seri tersisa hingga bulan November. Akhir pekan ini, (17/4/2005), MotoGP akan menggelar seri kedua di Sirkuit Estroil Portugal. Kalau ingin menyaksikan tontonan seru, tampaknya persaingan Rossi vs Gibernau jangan sampai dilewatkan.



Seperti yang dilansir situs resmi Yamaha , yamaha-motor.co.id, Rossi dijadwalkan akan berkunjung ke Jakarta pada 8 Februari mendatang. Kedatangan pembalap 29 tahun asal Italia tersebut adalah untuk menemui konsumen Yamaha di Indonesia.

"Oleh karena itu sebagai ucapan terimakasih Yamaha terhadap konsumen setia Yamaha yang otomatis telah menjadi team bagi suksesnya pencapaian penjualan Yamaha di tahun 2008, Yamaha Indonesia mengundang Valentino Rossi untuk datang ke Indonesia khusus untuk bertemu langsung dengan para konsumen Yamaha di Indonesia," tulis situs resmi Yamaha, Selasa (27/1).

Sayang, Rossi hanya sehari berada di Jakarta, pasalnya The Doctor sudah harus kembali ke Italia keesokan harinya.

"Rossi sendiri dijadwalkan akan tiba di Jakarta pada tanggal 8 Februari 2009 (malam) dan kembali lagi ke negaranya pada tanggal 9 Februari 2009 (malam). Kedatangannya ke Indonesia yang begitu singkat dikarenakan padatnya jadwal Rossi dalam rangka persiapan musim MotoGP 2009," tulis situs resmi Yamaha.
